Ferlib 20g Boxlock Ejector
Serial Number 33585
$10,000.00
description
A boxlock ejector by gunmaker, Libero Feraglio who used the first three letters of his first and last name in reverse to come up with “FERLIB”.
This is a classic A&D boxlock action with a scalloped action back and raised side panels that was a very popular model among Italian makers throughout the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s. A true scaled frame for the 20 bore, the action has two triggers – the front one hinged – and a manual safety. The action body and cover plate are color hardened and are engraved with a full coverage traditional small scroll. The engraving is signed: “Bol. D.”.
The 26” barrels have dovetail lumps and a concave game rib that is machine matted. The gun is choked .003” in the right barrel and .008” in the left with 2 ¾" chambers. The Italian “AM” date code is for 1984.
The nicely figured walnut stock has a straight hand grip with traditional drop points and a 14 5/8” LOP over a checkered butt. The hand of the stock, along with the splinter shaped forend, is expertly checkered at 32 lpi, a trait of fine Italian made guns.
The gun remains excellent overall with only a few handling marks on the stock, but nothing of note.
While the name might not be the most recognizable, this is another example of the good value Italian made guns offer to those who know how to spot them.
