J. Purdey & Sons 28g Ultra Round Body Over/Under Game Gun. Built on the improved Woodward pattern by Purdey’s with an ultra-round body shape and scaled frame size, the action is color hardened and engraved with the house’s classic Rose & Scroll and Maker’s name. Automatic safety and single non-selective trigger with gold lined cocking indicators and “SAFE” inlaid in gold. 

28” demi-bloc barrels have 2002 London proof marks, 2 ¾" chambers, a solid file cut rib and they are fitted with Teague chokes. 
The butt stock and slim shaped O/U forend are finely checkered and still retain their original hand rubbed Slacum oil finish.  The nicely figured stock has a 15” LOP over a checkered butt. The Woodward style pistol grip has a color hardened beaded trigger bow with a tang that extends to a color hardened steel grip cap. The stock has the traditional drop points and the gold stock oval is engraved with the original owner’s intials: “CDO Jr”.  
This gun was ordered new by our client’s father and has never been offered for sale. The gun is in superb shape, having been hunted on special occasions only. A few handling marks in the forend and virtually none on the butt stock. Barrels black and action’s color hardening remain excellent. The gun is superb mechanically and includes the Maker’s motor case. 
A very desirable gun in a wonderful configuration.
