Superb J. Purdey & Sons 12g sidelock ejector completed around 1964. Featuring 27 9/16" barrels choked 1/2 in the right and Extra Full in the left with 2 3/4” chambers and a raised engine turned top rib. The action is engraved with the classic Purdey house rose and scroll engraving and retains good amounts of case colour. The gun was originally built as a double trigger but has subsequently been converted to single. Stunningly figured, straight hand stock measures 14 3/4" to the centre of the leather covered recoil pad, with a gold stock oval, tear drops and splinter forend. The gun remains in excellent condition, comes cased in its motor case with tools and canvas outer and the original proof certificate from the London proof house.
