A rifle that came by way of South Africa, made mid 1950’s in Westley Richards proprietary cartridge, the .425 Express. Walnut stock has a Monte Carlo cheekpiece, point checkering and horn grip cap and forend tip. Scroll engraving on the floor plate and sides of the receiver. Built on a commercial FN Mauser action with a screw latch floor plate and a 25” barrel with an island rear sight that has a standing Express sight marked “150 yds” and two folding leaves marked “250 yds” and “350 yds” respectively. Stock is refinished with a modern Pachmayr rubber pad, wood and metal are refinished. Overall the gun is in very good shape as refinished. A nice using rifle in a very underrated cartridge. Ammo available.
