description
There was a line of so called “high powered” bolt action rifles from B.S.A. in the 1960’s-1970’s with three action sizes. A long aciton for the .30-06 length cartridges, a medium action for the .308 family, and short action for the .22 Hornet and the .222 Remington. The smallest of these rifles was called the “Regal”.
Based on a modified Mauser type action with integral scope mounts, a low 2-position lever type safety on the bolt shroud that works with a scope, unique “bladed” cocking indicator in rear of bolt, integral scope mounts (20mm) width, hinged bottom metal with inside-the-bow release with just 6.5” between the centers of the action screws. Rifle has a 24” barrel with 1 standing/2 folding leaf rear sight and ramp foresight. Right hand cheekpiece with a slightly raised comb, two original sling swivels mounted to the stock for a sling, full pistol grip with a Jerry Fisher solid 2-screw steel grip cap and an ebony forend tip. 13 ¾" LOP over a thin red rubber recoil pad, high gloss finish on metal and wood.
Rifle remains in excellent condition with a perfect bore.
