Created exclusively for Westley Richards, this collection of photographic artworks captures the beauty, atmosphere and enduring spirit of Africa through the eye of someone whose connection to the continent is both deep and longstanding. Shaped by years spent in the bush, Tito’s images offer an evocative glimpse into Africa’s wildlife, landscapes and wild places, seen not as a distant observer, but by one who knows them intimately.
Tito and Westley Richards developed their collaboration further in 2025, when he photographed the Safari Collection for our most recent catalogue. That work marked a natural meeting of perspectives, placing the collection in its true setting and interpreting it through Tito’s art-driven, atmospheric eye. This new body of work continues that collaboration in a different form, through a series of timeless images that reflect both his artistic sensibility and his lived experience of Africa.
Young Male Lion (Kenya, 2025) | 30.5 cm x 23.5 cm

Duma in the Mara (2025) | 19.5 cm x 23.5 cm
Elephant Bull (Kenya, 2024) | 28 cm x 24 cm
Skinning Shed - Omo River (Ethiopia, 2019) | 33 cm x 25.5 cm
The collection brings together large-format portraits of African wildlife and iconic scenes of savannah and bush, alongside smaller works that capture quieter and more fleeting moments. Subjects include lion, cheetah, rhino and elephant, as well as vultures, lechwe and scenes drawn from camp life. Each image preserves something of the mood, beauty and raw honesty of the continent.

What distinguishes Tito’s photography is not simply the subject matter, but the perspective behind it. His images are shaped by a personal relationship with the places and creatures he photographs, forged over years of guiding, hunting and living within the rhythm of safari life. That familiarity lends the work a rare authenticity. The pictures feel neither staged nor sentimental, but immediate, atmospheric and deeply felt.
Laikipia Tusker (2025) | 19 cm x 25 cm

White-Headed Vultures (Kenya 2024) | 33 cm x 25.5 cm
Sand River Buffalo in Colour (Kenya, 2025) - 1/3 | 122 cm x 84 cm

Each artwork is individually produced as an archival pigment print on hand-cut canvas, finished with varnish and signed by the artist. This process gives every piece its own texture and presence, reinforcing the sense that these are not merely photographs, but characterful works of art made to be lived with and returned to over time.
The larger works are bold enough to bring the atmosphere and emotion of wild Africa into even the most pared-back interior, while the smaller prints create moments of intrigue and intimacy wherever they are placed. Together, they form a collection that is both striking and personal, capable of transforming a room while maintaining a direct connection to the landscapes and wildlife from which they came.

Ele Below the Escarpment (Kenya, 2024) - 1/3 | 122 cm x 86 cm
Tito West is a singular talent, and his work creates an intimate relationship with the places and inhabitants of the Africa to which so many Westley Richards customers are drawn time and again. Once experienced, the sights, sounds and smells of Africa never quite leave you. Tito’s images help sustain that connection, bringing a little of its spirit into the home and quietly keeping alive the desire for further adventure.
