The Westley Richards ‘drop-locks’ may be entirely removed and replaced by hand in seconds. No tools or special skills are required. This offers practical security in transit, as removing the locks renders the rifle harmless. Cleaning is a simple matter as the locks are fully accessible in the field and a wet or dirty rifle can be restored to pristine order with ease.

Genius in Simplicity

Unlike many complicated side-locks, with multiple, small, fragile component parts, the Westley Richards double rifle lock consists only of a main-spring, a sear-spring, a sear, a tumbler and a cocking dog. Strikers are removable and replaceable. The result is a remarkably robust and reliable action, capable of decades of rough treatment and hard use without issue.
