As a Birmingham company, we favour Birmingham applicants who know and love the Midlands. We are dedicated to ensuring, through our apprenticeship scheme, that local talent is fostered and guided towards a fulfilling career in gunmaking.
Training Local Talent
Qualified gunmakers in the British tradition are scarce and in demand all around the world. With a Westley Richards apprenticeship, young gunmakers build the foundations for a lifelong career that can provide secure work at home or a means to travel or self-employment.
Progression Alongside Skills Acquisition
As apprentices develop skills, they are given tasks alongside our gunmakers, helping to build sporting guns and rifles of the very highest quality. Greater responsibility comes as apprentices progress. After five years, most competent starters will be ready to join the team as gunmakers in their own right.
“At Westley Richards, we firmly believe that craftsmanship isn’t inherited. It’s taught.”
