Gunmakers Shoot at The Gatten
Last month, the gunmakers and apprentices travelled across to a very beautiful but windy Shropshire estate to let off some steam and enjoy a driven pheasant day. A jolly good time was had by all, with plenty of one-upmanship and banter taking place between drives and on the pegs. We invited Brett to come along with the group to capture the shoot in all its glory and bond with the team.

Greetings from snowy northern AZ,
What delightful memories this brought to mind. I was blessed to shoot at the Gatten with a group of Guns who all used black powder sporting guns including flint and percussion muzzle loaders, pin fire and center fire ignition. Known as the Black Hand Gang, they appeared in my article titled ‘Black Hands and Red Legs’ in the autumn 2008 Double Gun Journal.
Best regards and compliments to the photographer. I can almost smell that nitrocellulose and enjoy ‘aroma therapy’ vicariously.
