Friday At The Factory

As another busy week draws to a close and we head into the bank holiday weekend, below is a small selection of shots from the factory floor. Although this is technically deemed as the quieter time of the year, there’s certainly no let-up in the work load and we’re as busy as ever!

    Hi Ricky,
Some great shots of real gunsmiths at work! I hope that WR continues making bespoke rifles and guns for the next 200 years! Happy holiday to all that work at WR! Enjoy your long weekend!

    Hi Ricky

In this age of advanced computerisation, robotics, ones ability to receive and send messages via hand held devices to any part of the globe (all very modern) isn’t it wonderful to view “craftsmen and women”practicing their trade ‘today’ as practiced for over 200 years at Westley Richards!
All the “craftspeople”have that confidence and contentment written on their faces, I bet they are a great team to work alongside!
Computers may have changed the way things are done from the outset but look at the variety of tools used and those lead jawed industrial vices, looks like most of them have been handed down through the generations of Westley workers.
    Great subject!

    Best regards
    Peter.

You made a good point Peter Buckley. The craftsmen all look not only content but deeply involved in their work. Not a lot of work places in modern society where your employees appear to ply their trade with such intensity!

I love workshop photos, showing people using great skills. It is great that we still have real gunmakers here in the UK, and long may it stay that way.
