I think are all familiar with the Selvyt Cloth, the cleaning cloth that most all the English gunmakers supply with their trade label embossed in the middle. This version is a small Selvyt pad, soaked in preserving oil and contained in a small painted tin measuring about 3 inches square. It is an item which I have tried many times, unsuccessfully, to have reproduced at a reasonable cost.

Hi Simon
I had never seen one before a few months ago. It came up on that ( like it or loath it )
auction website, I watched it in disbelief when in the end it made ( if my memory serves
me well ) @ £504.00 !!
Keep hold of your Selvyt cloth, who knows what value it will be in years to come.
Carry on with the Blog next time it could be Gold.
Kind Regards. Pete.

Simon
Sorry I didn't get back to you I was watching the Rugby England verses Ireland, great match.
If ever. I see any boxes and pads lying around I will be sure to pick them up, if ever !
Whilst we're on the subject of ephemera, a while ago I happened to chance upon two photo's of your old shooting ground in Edgware road Hendon, I think they are from the 1940's when the Company held a Royal Warrant to
King George VI. They are Sepia photo's showing the old entrance and the shooting school club house, when I eventually come down to see you I will bring them along if you are interested.
Keep a tight hold on your tin.
Pete.
