What made Nimali such a fitting choice was not only the beauty of its setting, but the quality of the experience it offers. It is a camp that combines warm, attentive hospitality with a deep respect for the landscape and wildlife around it, creating a safari that feels both immersive and refined. That made it a natural backdrop for Westley Richards, whose safari clothing has long been designed around the practical realities and comfort required for time spent in the remote African wilderness.

For Westley Richards, the women’s collection was especially important to place in this context. In recent years, we have expanded our safari offering for women, designed for those who want clothing that combines practicality, comfort and elegance in equal measure. Nimali gave us the opportunity to see those garments working properly, not in abstraction, but in the conditions for which they were made.

From long hours in the vehicle to time spent at the waterhole and relaxed evenings in camp, the collection demonstrated the value of ease, lightness and freedom of movement. Pieces designed for warm-weather travel proved their worth in the Tanzanian climate, while the balance between utility and refinement remained central throughout. These are clothes made to move through safari life with assurance, while still retaining the quiet elegance expected of Westley Richards.

“At Nimali, safari is about a deeper connection to nature and experiencing the landscape in a meaningful way. What made this collaboration feel so relevant was the shared appreciation for craftsmanship, thoughtful design and the experience of travelling well. From early mornings in the bush to evenings back in camp, the collection suited the rhythm and comfort that define safari in Tanzania.
It was wonderful to see the collection photographed at Nimali Africa and to experience the quality and design firsthand within a safari setting. The collection feels perfectly suited to life on safari and is something we would recommend to anyone travelling through the African wilderness.”
Harjot Mann – Nimali Director

Photographic safari is now the way most people experience Africa, and that shift makes this aspect of the collection especially relevant. Today’s safari traveller still values clothing that performs well, offering protection from sun and dust, comfort over long days and adaptability across changing temperatures and environments still matter greatly.

Alongside the women’s collection, our leather travel goods proved equally well suited to life at Nimali. From the journey out to life in camp, they served as practical and refined companions, reinforcing Westley Richards’ longstanding reputation for craftsmanship, travel goods and safari inspired design. Built on our heritage and designed for repeated use, they are made to travel well, to wear beautifully and to become more characterful with time.

In a setting such as Nimali, that broader outfitting role felt especially clear. Safari today is as much about the quality of the journey as it is about the destination, and the traveller who chooses such an experience values pieces that are dependable, practical and quietly refined. That is as true of a well-made bag as it is of a well-cut safari jacket.

The men’s collection, too, formed an important part of the shoot. Defined by utility, durability and handsome style, it remains central to the company and continues to speak naturally to the rhythms of safari life. Seen alongside the women’s range, it helped express the breadth of the 2026 collection and the fuller safari wardrobe Westley Richards now offers.

“Photographic safari is now how most people experience Africa, and Nimali provided an exceptional setting in which to present the Westley Richards safari clothing and leather goods in that context. For us, it was especially exciting to see our expanded women's collection come to life within the beautiful grounds and interiors of Nimali Tarangire. The people and the place will remain long in the memory."
Stephen Humphries - Westley Richards Creative Director

For the whole team, Nimali provided an unforgettable setting in which to live with the collection and understand it more fully. The camp’s atmosphere, the standard of its guiding and the richness of the surrounding landscape made a lasting impression.

To sleep under African skies, listening to the sounds of the nocturnal world beyond the tent, then wake to a level of comfort and refined hospitality seldom expected in so remote a place, was to experience safari in a form that balanced the raw and the wild with the cultivated and the luxurious. In that respect, Nimali provided a fitting setting for the collection and the experience it was designed around. We share a belief that authentic safari experience, quiet discernment and a sensitive, sustainable approach to wild places can exist in harmony.

Safari in Tanzania is exceptional for the sheer abundance of wildlife, but what distinguishes Nimali is the quality with which that experience is framed. From the service, food and beautifully appointed tented camp to the remarkable proximity to wildlife at the waterhole beside the dining room and pool, it is a place of rare distinction and a natural fit for the Westley Richards world. Our thanks go to the Nimali team for their generosity, professionalism and warm hospitality throughout the shoot.
