Westley Richards Special Edition Luggage

Westley Richards bags have achieved something of a cult following among the sporting cognoscenti. Subtle branding and styling cues give away just enough for those in the know to recognize, without any of the overt displays some brands consider necessary to broadcast to their tribe.

Westley Richards leather is not mass market, it is not made overseas and it is ‘reassuringly expensive’, to borrow a well-used phrase familiar to the beer drinkers of the ‘90s.

Just about every Westley Richards travel bag, wallet or case, seen gracing the reception desk of a select boutique hotel or making its way up the steps of a private jet, has been made to order in Birmingham, in the very same factory that turns-out guns and rifles costing upwards of one hundred thousand pounds.

While the big fashion houses market well, Westley Richards quietly creates masterpieces, designed and hand-stitched from the finest materials available, right here in England.

The first release limited edition from the Westley Richards range launched recently in an exclusive walnut suede, trimmed with the company’s traditional bark-tanned smooth, dark brown leather.

In-keeping with Westley Richards’s uncompromising quest for the unique and best, this exclusive suede is sourced from Florence, where it is made using a metal-free tanning process and finished with a colour-fast treatment that seals in the dye and helps prevent colour-bleed. The suede has a particularly velvety pile, and a colour depth not commonly encountered, that effortlessly exudes quality, luxury and style.

The gunmaking lineage of every piece of Westley Richards luggage can be seen in the fastenings, the zip-pulls and the unique lining, designed by gun engraver Paul Lantuch, as well, of course, as the iconic Westley Richards logo-plate.

Westley Richards luggage draws on their gunmaking heritage and the experience of supplying the leather goods that hunters and adventurers have sought from the company for over 200 years.

Those design and construction values, that have served so well in the manufacture of cartridge bags, gun cases and leather goods, translate into beautifully rugged, yet stylish, travel bags, rucksacks and hand-luggage.

The walnut suede special edition range includes a large holdall; the Bournbrook 48hr Bag, the popular Sutherland Safari Kit Bag, ideal for an overnight stay, two rucksacks: the Explora Deluxe Rucksack and the more urban-oriented Bournbrook Rucksack, the Bishop Shoulder Bag and the Bournbrook Briefcase. There is even the beautiful, if diminutive, Bournbrook Wash Bag.

Prices range from under five hundred pounds to over two thousand five hundred. Available exclusively from Westley Richards.
