ROSS SEYFRIED AND SUTHERLAND'S 577
It was great to see the author, hunter and Westley Richards supporter Ross Seyfried at the Safari Club Convention last week in Las Vegas. Ross was the only person allowed to take the Sutherland 577 rifle from its case and shoot an elephant! I think if anyone could understand the history in the rifle, where it had been and what it had done, Ross would be that person.

I first became familiar with Ross when he wrote for GUNS & AMMO Magazine. He more than filled a void when Elmer Keith passed but continued along a more modern line of Mr. Keith’s past ideals. He is without question the best gun writer of my time.
Ross assisted me several times by telephone on issues I was having casting bullets and loading for double rifles. On both occasions, he was spot on and more than happy to help. I am a big fan of Ross Seyfried and only hope some day he writes a book on his many arms and adventures.

I will send him your contact. Obviously we can help with questions on regulating rifles as we do it on a daily basis. There is a new publication by Woodleigh Bullets written by Geoff McDonald and Graeme Wright on loading for double rifles which you should get hold of if hand loading. http://www.woodleighbullets.com.au
The key to the success of regulation is consistent ammunition, attempting regulation before establishing that is a waste of time!

I would like for you to contact Ross and give him my email address. I have a friend who is building a new double rifle and between us we have several questions about regulation and loads for doubles. I have built several doubles myself and Ross was always one of my favorite writers. Thank You.
Sincerely ,Robert M. Hynden
