A carved Stick, a Pair of Western Boots and Pair of Guns, Each take 2 years to get made!

In early 2014 I ordered a pair of boots in Bozeman at the shop of custom maker Tony  English who had moved, as it turned out 'temporarily', next to the Hat Shop I have used now on four occasions. I have had safari and other custom hats made and always very pleased with the result, the company is Rocky Mountain Hats run by the father and son team of John Morris Snr. & Jnr.

2 years to get

The boots just arrived 2 years later and it made me think, I always have a lot of people say '2 years' to make a gun, that is so long, why? So here in one photograph, waiting for an impending trip to USA and getting acclimatised in the new boots, is my pair of guns which take 2 years to build, the pair of boots which took 2 years to build and a carved walking stick which took at least 2 years to get! So we are not the only ones!!

    Good Evening Simon,

    Talk about ecletic taste....

I think the time invested on waiting on guns to be built is just a form of foreplay. Once the guns are at hand, what is a man to do after hunting season? Try and find funding for another gun of course!!!

PS: That's not a bad looking group of acccessories, with those two ole rusty nails!!

    In Christ

Love the game bag too. It seems to be an unusual color, at least compared to what I am familiar with (Hardy & Brady). Do you have plans on having your wonderful leather shop start making those as well?

I do indeed but the 'mesh or netting man' is difficult and I want in natural string not polyester! Small but important obstacles!!

I agree it has to be natural string although some of my American brethren seem to favor the poly - I can't imagine why. I have great faith in your leather shop folks. Surely they won't let a little thing like natural string flummox them. I can't wait to see the final product.
