J. Dickson & Son 12g Round Body Game Gun

Completed in 1891 and based on Dickson’s round action trigger plate with Dickson’s fine house scroll by Sumner. Self opening action has two triggers, gold pin cocking indicators, pivoting third bite, and an auto safety.
New (made and Birmingham proofed in 1991) 28” chopper lump barrels have a swamped rib with rib extension, 2 1/2” chambers, and both measure .729” with .014” choke in the right barrel .020” in the left. 
Replacement stock and splinter forend of nicely figured walnut has a 14 5/8” LOP over a checkered butt with engraved steel heel and toe plates and a straight hand grip with point pattern checkering. Gold oval engraved with “GOB”. 
Gun remains excellent as refurbished with bright vivid colors and high quality blacked furniture. Gun is housed in what appears to be the original Maker’s leather case with Dickson “roaring lion” trade label and “Archibald Campbell” on top. Overall an excellent Dickson round action that is refurbished and ready for another 100 years of service.
